Found out the whole problem with the rash was more serious than I thought. I have Impetigo staphylococcus. I've had it for two months, but since it didn't look infectious and I just considered it a normal rash, I ignored it. But I finally went to the doctor today, and he took one look at it and said I was highly contagious. xD So Dad just left to get my prescription antibiotics and ointment. I'm not supposed to go to school until I've been on antibiotics for at least twenty-four hours.
Help?
Okay, so I've been having this problem for about a month and a half. The rubber sock used to hold my prosthesis is, I'm guessing, rubbing me whenever I bend my knee. Because of that, I now have a rash of sorts behind my knee. The only time it ever went away was the day before school started. But then it started up after that, and I've had to take school days off so early in the year. These kinds of things are usually miss a lot of school and get bad grades in most of high school. I've tried creams, Band-aids, cornstarch (a suggestion by my nan), and blisters kits, but nothing works because I have to put the prosthesis back on to do the simplist things. I was okay crawling around the house when I was in middle school, but now it's just a hassle. Suggestions? Help?

Hi Caitlin:
BrendaI haven't had any problems with it falling off. Then again I do not literally run but I am very active and always on the go...from 7/8am until between midnite - 3am the next morning. Like you, I don't have time to take it off and air it out! lol. I've got too much to do.
The suffocation of the rubber is what made me not want to try the suction leg. I can just see it giving me a rash. Any problems with it rolling down?
