Found out the whole problem with the rash was more serious than I thought. I have Impetigo staphylococcus. I've had it for two months, but since it didn't look infectious and I just considered it a normal rash, I ignored it. But I finally went to the doctor today, and he took one look at it and said I was highly contagious. xD So Dad just left to get my prescription antibiotics and ointment. I'm not supposed to go to school until I've been on antibiotics for at least twenty-four hours.
Help?
Okay, so I've been having this problem for about a month and a half. The rubber sock used to hold my prosthesis is, I'm guessing, rubbing me whenever I bend my knee. Because of that, I now have a rash of sorts behind my knee. The only time it ever went away was the day before school started. But then it started up after that, and I've had to take school days off so early in the year. These kinds of things are usually miss a lot of school and get bad grades in most of high school. I've tried creams, Band-aids, cornstarch (a suggestion by my nan), and blisters kits, but nothing works because I have to put the prosthesis back on to do the simplist things. I was okay crawling around the house when I was in middle school, but now it's just a hassle. Suggestions? Help?
Driving
Just finished first behind-the-wheel driving thingy today. God, it's scary driving on highways. AND I GOT LAUGHED AT BY PASSING CARS. :/ Douchebags. >> I drove for two straight hours, did two K-turns, and so on. I suck at K-turns. I almost hit a mailbox. And in the beginning I sucked at mere turns, the lady kept having to yell at me.
You know, just a few days ago, I realized that having the prosthetic on the left instead of right is like a small blessing. xD It'd probably be a lot more difficult to learn to drive had I had a right amputation.
Tomorrow is my second lesson. Hopefully she won't come early, because today she came before my bus even got down the road to drop the kids off. Luckily, I stayed home today because of my leg.
Why?
Everytime I see my little cousin she always has to tap on my leg, hug it, and go, "What's wrong with your leg?" over and over again. I don't know how many times I or my mother has to repeat it. xD I think she's eight now, yet she does it every time. She can remember every word from an infomercial or dictionary, but she can't seem to get a grip on my leg. I've gotten used to it, but it's still a little embarassing, 'cause I'm not good with kids. The most I do is let her tap my leg and just ignore her when she asks, because I don't know what to say, or if I should say anything at all.
