Hi everyone!  I have found that many members of this wonderful site are also animal-lovers (like me).  Therefore, I have started a new group called "Amps4Animals" so that we can all share our common, pet-related animal interests.  Please come have a look...if you like it, please join.  Thanks ya'll!!

    Hello,

Good idea forming a group for animals on the site. I have two cats, Amos and Ownie (Ow Knee)it was my wifes nickname growing up. I also have about 45 assorted freshwater fish. I became an amputee in August of 2004 and in February of 2007 I developed some products for amputees and also for dogs. The dog products consist of two all natural products, a shampoo and a skin conditioner that does wonders for just about any skin condition a dog could face, including nail rot or fungus. I am not going to post my web site unless it is requested. I did not join the site to promote my self interest. I will give it to anyone who asked through private email, I don't want to violate the terms of use on this site, I really enjoy being here.

I think having a pet or pets is a great idea because it can help take your mind off of those nagging temptations to dwell in self pity. It is also a plus to have an animal to care for and that depends on you, it gives a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

My web address is www.MalamuteMountainNatur... and I personally think we make some of the finest all natural dog shampoo in the world.

I also own www.WhiteMountainNaturals... and we make products to help amputees & diabetics maintain healthy limbs and skin. We also have a new psoriasis slave and a brand new pain cream.

I have 4 dogs and 4 cats, 1 cat is also an amputee. My dogs have been aware of my injury and acted a little different upon my return home. 1 of my dogs is "my nurse" she never leaves my side now. I was the office manager at a veterinary hospital before this and I love to hear other animal stories. So I happily come along.

    Hello,

I just got a new puppy. Her name is Nozomi. My plan is to use her for pet therapy with my patients. Pets are a wonderful way to heal.

We certainly are animal lovers. We had an 17 year old poodle named ringo (AKC: Ringo my teddy bear) When he was about 14 years old we got him a new poodle puppy and it was the best thing we ever did for him (kept him active. That one was named Teddy (Akc: Ringo's Teddy Bear)
When we lost Ringo, in 1998 a cute little pomeranian named Rambo (AKC: Ringo's Rambamsious Teddy Bear) came into our life, We lost Teddy to cancer in 2005. And my wife had always wanted a Shetland Sheep Dog, a Sheltie (looks like a miniture collie, We searched and searched and finally found one 3 hours away at a kennel and made the 6 hour round trip to pick up Laddie (AKC: Ringo's Lad Dog). And so that adventure began. WOW did it begin. When he came home he was smaller than the Pomp, Rambo. But did he grow, and for the first time in my wife the animal lover, she was challenged. I agree with the statement that so many people of all walks and type love animals. In 1999, I attended an Insurance convention for Agents and during a conference break, a group was outside talking and they began to pull out pictures of their children. My are grown and I had no pictures, but I had just recently put a picture of Teddy and Rambo in my wallet, I put it out and said here are my children. I could not believe how many others did the same and that is when I became a real believer. My wife is an artist (she is still a Office Manager by Day) and had recently painted a photo of a dog and cat for a co-worker. The co-worker had called her crying one day to say, that she was so blessed to have the painting because the Cat had a stroke and had died.
That was the start of my wife's internet web site which I paid to have built for her pet portrait web site. The rest is history and she has now painted over 8 years for pet lovers all over the world, including the royal family of indonesia. Over 8 years I have learned that a vast majority of her painting are for memorials to the pets commissioned by the owners or friends or family. If you have never read or heard of the rainbow bridge poem, look it up on the internet, you if love animals, I promise you will cry. I cried more when we lost Ringo than I did when I lost my leg. Have a great pet day.
