    Phantom Pains

Sunday, September 23, 2007, 09:41 PM PST [General]

Hey , Thanks for visiting my site.  I was wondering if any of you get phantom pains.  I do a lot and they make it hard for me to sleep.  I have created a poll to see how many people get phantom pains.  Would you please take it if you are an amputee?  If you have any tricks on how to treat phantom pains I would love to know your ideas! Thanks! ~Austan

    Hi
    Hi Austan

I love your dog. I have a small Jack Russell
named Elizabeth and she thinks she ownes the world. I also have a grandson, Jake who is 15. I hope you are dealing with your PLP, I know it can be bad. My doctor tells me it is a mind thing so it needs to be delt with by the mind. You need to learn to go to a good place in your mind and tell your body to relax. Eventually the body will listen to what ever you keep telling it.

Hang tough and feel free to contact me any time

    Hi Austan

My name is Ann and I lost both of my legs last year. I have had some PLP and I talked to my doctor, he advised that there are some anti-depressant drugs that help some but he advised me to use meditation rather than drugs if I could. I have had great relief by using this method. I would love to share my experience with you.

I do get phantom pains. but it happens mostly at night. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor they have medication for that but it makes you tired. Maybe you also get nerve pain. it' like getting electric shocks.they also have medication for that.(smoking whatever it is is not a good solution)

    Hi Austan,

never drink alcohol when phantom pain is coming up. It#s getting a lot harder than.

What U can do: Smoke pot. Not too much, just a little to relax. That can help.

    take care, Karl
