    Hello,

    My name is Herbie.  I am a recent upper arm amputee.  I was in a car accident 11 years ago and lost the use of my arm.  Due to an injury to the arm this summer, I had an amputation 2 weeks ago.

    I wanted to create a blog where we could share challenges we have faced and our solutions to those challenges.  I'm a very active person and have overcome much, as we all have.

    Lets share our challenges and solutions.

    Hi Herbie - I figured since I'm a partial hand amputee I qualify for this group, too. Us upper extremity folks need to stick together since we're the minority.

    Hello all arm amputees. I would like to recommend an event to you all ... the One Arm Dove Hunt, held in September each year in Olney, Texas. This year will be the 37th year, September 5-6. It is like a big family reunion hosted by a friendly little town ... and we all are welcomed as instant long lost cousins. Most people come from Texas or nearby states, but some of us arrive from all over the country (I live in Florida). And yes, many of the guys do hunt doves, play golf or horseshoes ... but many of us are just there for the camaraderie. See the website www.onearmdovehunt.com
