About Me
Hello everyone! Man, this is a cool site! I just discovered it about 2 days ago while watching the HEROS segment on CNN. I hope to get to know as many of you as I can and maybe make a few friends. I'm a Marine Corps and Desert Storm Veteran living in Michigan. I've been out of the Corps since 1993. Well...I guess first off, everyone wants to know how this happened. Well, it was a complete freak accident! I'll try to move this along quickly without leaving anything out. On May 20, 2003 I was at work. I was an assistant maintenance supervisor at a large apartment complex. We had gotten a shipment of refrigerators in a few days before and they were still in the shop; meaning; no one had put them in appliance storage yet. I was working on a project in the shop and needed room to work. I started moving the refrigerators; rocking them from side-to-side to get them out of the way. while doing this, the corner of one of the fridges landed on my right foot. It hurt a little, but I thought "no big deal" and continued out the day. The next day, while i was at work, my foot started to tingle, like it was falling asleep. The feeling progressed throughout the day until it got painful. I left work at about 3pm to go to emergency. They did a dobbler scan and said they found nothing wrong. they gave me some vicoden and sent me on my way. The pain got worse so I went back the next day. I was told I had pseudo-gout ( what ever that is) and given more pain pills and sent home. Long story short...I went back to the hospital 6 times in a two week period and even went to see a so called specialist until they finally decided to do another test; and thats when they found the blood clot. By that time, My foot had gain-green and my leg was infected also. I actually had 2 amputations. The first time they just cut off the foot, but about a month later they had to cut off the rest, just above the knee to stop the infection. I was in the hospital for 3 months and in rehab for a month before returning home. It has only been 3 years so I don't really know how I feel about this now. I'm not angry; and I hope I don't come across that way, but it changed my life almost completly; and I may be a little upset about that. I shut down for awhile, but I'm trying to get back on track. I'm, in school working toward a degree in Network Security and Disaster Recovery, I'm meeting new people and trying to get on with my life. I'm looking for employment, but also looking for ways to start my own busines; I never really liked the idea of having a boss! I never lost my sense of humor; so thats a good thing. Anyway...thats a little about me. By the way..just cuz I'm into guys doesn't mean I don't like chicks too; so girls don't give up; you still got a chance. If anyone wants to chat, hit me up!

Movies
I'm a REALLY BIG MOVIE FAN! I love all kinds od different genres from epic dramas to horror. Some of my favorite movies are: The Lord of The Rings trilogy, the Harry Potter movies, Seven, Apocolypse Now, Bram Stokers Dracula, Munich, Hellraiser, scarface, The Godfather...so many more. I love foreign films and independants also.
TV
'Nip Tuck' has won me over! I also like 'Its Always Sunny in Philidelphia', I love 'Dexter' on Showtime. I'm a big 'Sopranos' fan and I like 'The Wire'
Books
I don't read as much as I should, but who really does these days! But, when I do read; It's usually books that deal with Mythology and Horror. I love all the Harry Potter Books ( I'm a nerd; so what!), i love Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles and Clive Barker's Books of Blood series. Lately I've been trying to get into books that deal with finance and investing because I would love to get into that someday.
Likes
I like people that are passionate about things and enjoy being around other people. I like smart, interesting people. I like long drives with no particular destination.I like poetry, the outdoors, warm breezy nights, fireworks, camping, fishing, all that good stuff.
Dislikes
Ignorrant or mean people; Selfish or stuck up people, Close minded or judgemental people. I hate Mondays! I hate it when people ask questions that they already know the answers to. I hate winers and beggars and people that always depend on others for everything. I hate show offs!
Hobbies
I'm into mythology so I collect swords, knives, dragons figuriens and all that kinda stuff. I also collect certain types of action figures and super hero trading cards. I know I sound like a TOTAL GEEK, but I promise you , I'm not that bad! I like guns too, but I don't collect them
Vices
Since I lost my leg, I've become less sympathetic to others when they wine and complain about meanial things in their lives. I smoke, but I'm trying to quit. I have others, but their abit naughty, so I shouldn't mention them here. Guess you'll just have to meet me to find out.
Virtues
People say I have more patience than anyone else they know. I respect all others and try to find a reason to be nice to people, even If they give me a reason not to be. Also, being an amputee has taught me to respect life and get as much out of it while you can because life is not a right; it's a privilege!
Heroes
God,My Mom, and Cameron Clapp, who inspired me to pick myself up and take control of my life after I read his story. WAY TO GO CAM! Your Tops in my book!!
