This is something I wrote a while back. It doesn't make as much sense to me now, but still causes my eyes to drip water for some reason and I thought I would share. Maybe someone can relate or just appreciate the scenario..
Walk in Truth
Maybe like on a tightrope, when you almost lose your balance and gasp, and catch yourself just in time. Oops!
Don't look down!
It's enought to keep you breathing (being thankful of our abilities) and there is no turning back now.
And you take another step.
You learn to trust yourself, it's a deep down gut feeling. You remember the last 'near fall' clearly, and vow not to make that same mistake again, knowing it could all end in a split second. It's exciting,
and you take another step.
Hmmm. From the first step, you know it's not endless. At first the rope is tight and a little downhill. The middle must be the trickiest with all the slack, and the second half an uphill battle(but easier) with the end in sight. There is no-one else there to help you,
and you take another step.
Suddenly someone calls out your name for help, it's a familiar voice. You kinda lose your balance, but quickly re-group your senses, and focus. Your gonna make it! Nothing can distract you now!
And don't look down!
It comes from down deep inside, we know we cannot help anyone if we are not here! People are counting on me to make it! It feels like a relief when we reach the end. A hand reaches out to help you onto the platform,
and you take another step.
Safe!
Exhileration?, satisfaction, excitement, relief, all rolled into one. And with trembling legs, you descend the ladder to find out who called out to you? And what they need? And there is no-one there! You're mentally exhausted, physically challenged, you take a deep breath,
and you don't look down,
and you take another step!
