I hardly notice anymore but it really has come down to one shoe. One shoe type I mean. I had someone over not long ago and she looks around and thinks it kinda weird that I have all the same kind of shoes laying around in various states of wear. I had like 3 or 4 pair lined up under a dresser, a couple of pair under the bed, old inserts laying and 1/4 lifts all laying around.
I've come to realize that if something works, don't fix it. I found the one shoe that works for me, it's very lightweight, durable, available, and easy to put on. I also need an extra wide shoe because my living foot had some trauma too. The Nike Air fills the need but they cost about $50, so I wear them out. I got shoes in different stages of decomposition, so to speak, and depending on what I'm doing for the day is what pair I put on. I got ones for going out, ones for tromping in wet nasty places, and ones for regular everyday wear.
Now I do have other shoes that I wear occasionally but every shoe has a different heel or insole, weight, and adjustments have to be made to accommodate the changes. I don't change my adjustments on the leg itself, just the way I walk. So like I say if you find something that works, don't fix it!!!
