Well, after all was said and done, going up the chain of command, MAC cosmetics was profoundly apologetic and in complete disbelief of the treatment I received. They gave me a free session on putting on make-up (yes, it is rocket science to me) and a 20% discount for the rest of the month on any products. They were so accomodating and helpful. To tell you the truth, I really didn't expect anything more than an apology. Thank you everybody for your support. And though I am still going through this "healing" process, you guys have all been wonderful and supportive!
Should a company show a humanitarian side?
Well I just turned 30 this past Sunday (Aug. 24) and it was also our 6 year wedding anniversary. So my husband made plans to take me out to dinner. I decided to have my 2 year old join me at a MAC cosmetics store to see her mommy get a makeover. I let them know that I had cancer, lost all my hair (eyebrow, eyelashes, etc.) and if they could do a make-over for me and make me the way I haven't felt in a while...pretty. With the fee for a make-over, we didn't get it done. I couldn't hold back the tears and just left as quickly as possible. I haven't felt so hurt in a while. All I wanted to do was look nicer than the normal hairless, limbless way I've been these past few months. I hadn't cried like that in a while. I felt so hurt. I was so saddened that these people have such a gift with make-up and it seemed so hard for them just to extend a humanitarian hand to help someone out.
Just venting......thanks for reading ;-\
