Hi Dan, I am not on this site very often, but I think you sent me a message. Did you want to know how I became an amputee? I wrote about it in detail on my page. I was injured in a terrorist bombing in Munich West Germany waaaay back on Sept 26, 1980. I was not supposed to live, the injuries were massive. I fought back, that's always been my nature. I was in the Air Force, so I received my care in military and VA hospitals. Ultimately I became a double bk amputee. It took 9mos of care before I walked out of the hospital. I have lived a complete life since, and continue to do so. I raised three kids, and now am very active politically. My prostheses have become better and better with time. I am blessed to have great feet now, and a great team in the prosthetics lab at the VA hospital in OKC, Oklahoma. My feet are elite blades, made to run in, but I haven't tried that yet;-) Hope to hear back from you, take care! Cindy
