About Me I had my leg amputated when I was 3 years old due to a congenital birth defect - I was born without my right fibula and my right femur, knee and tibia were underdeveloped. I've had so many reconstructive surgeries on my leg, hip, and spine that I've honestly lost count - it has to be over 20 though. So, I'm a true veteran of the OR =) What I do: I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Biology and if all goes well, I should graduate this spring. I've been married for almost 5 years to a wonderful man - he's a native born and raised Italian - we met while I was doing field research for my graduate work in Italy. We have 2 beautiful children - a 2 year old boy and our most recent addition - a 2 week-old girl!

Books romance novels - I gobble them up!

Hobbies cross-stitching, cooking, traveling, reading & scuba diving - though I haven't been in quite a while

Vices I used to smoke - but kicked the habit over a year ago. I do like to shop a bit too much =)
