If any one you would like to check out an inspiring story, read about Nick Vujicic at lifewithoutlimbs.org.  Nick was born totally without arms and legs except for a 2 toed foor that protrudes from his hip.  He is truly amazing.

I think we all need to thank Josh for the wonderful site that he has started.  He has been able to bring hundreds of amputees together for support and discussion.  Even though we lost the CNN poll, we proved our point that we are a force to be reckoned with.

I don't think that I've talked about my boyfriend here.  His name is Chad and he is also 37. We met in college.  Chad was born without eyes and the ability to hear.  He never learned to speak.  He grew up in a dark and silent world.  He communicates with the language of the deafblind, which is manual sign.  In other words, he signs regularly for the sighted and signs in your hand if you are also deafblind.  He also reads lips by placing his thumb on your lips and forefinger on your throat.  From the shape of your lips and the vibrations made by your voice box, he can know what you are saying.  He works for a computer software company, developing and adapting programs for the use of the deaf/blind.
