I am now officially Dr. Robert M. Hampton ... wait, that's what I was yesterday too.

Well Jane is now officially Mrs. Jane Hampton ...  wait, she was that yesterday too.

Yes folks it is a long story but we both had the same last name BEFORE  today's wedding and no we were neither related nor married to each other before.  It does simplify drivers licenses etc and we simply explain in deference to women's lib, I took HER last name.
