Thanks Brenda for the info...I found it eerily similar to my situation. I don't know if my orthopedic doctor would agree though, but I will let him know about your experience. So far, he has told me that my contracture is NOT joint-related; in his opinion, this is a soft-tissue problem.

haven't heard from u in a while., but in your defense, I haven't been on the site in a long minute. inshallah all is well at your end. allhamdolillah the same goes for me. summer school started last month! nothing major, just two classes...progress is slow and steady. i pray that all is well with you.

For the welcome, and the words of advice and encouragement. I am sure you are correct about all of it. My amputation is above the knee, but my stump is about 12 inches. I was fitted for a prosthetic leg, but it never fit right( which I know there is no perfect one), it is a very old model though , I know they make better ones now. The fit of the leg may have been due to my size , I don't know, I wasn't small even then. The bad knee was certainly a part of the difficulty, but not the only problem.I am going to try everything I know to do on my own, until I am in a postion to get medical advice.I certainly appreciate all of the comments and suggestions I get from people like yourself.

We have talked and are back on a professional level.He is a great pros person and being young he is up on the newest gadgets.I have a very handsome loving husbund of 23 years.This guy can't even hold a candle to my husband.He looks older than my husband.He is a sweet guy but come on I am not stupid even if I am blond.Thanks for the advice.
