    Differences in Opinion

    Thursday, February 14, 2008, 12:41 PM [General]

Is it common for prosthetists to differ in opinion alot? I went for a consultation with Hangar. They looked at the socket and said it was not the right one. They couldn't imagine how I could sit on this hard socket for any period of time. They said I should have a suction socket with soft plastic on the rear end so it wouldn't hurt so much. I would love it if I didn't have a hard thing to sit on. Anyway, Happy Valentines to all that have supported me thru this wonderful journey.

    Socket info

    Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 03:02 PM [General]

I went back to San Fran and they told me they increased the toe load, well, I don't fall but it seems like I can't swing the leg forward and I am in slow motion. So I now don't even want to wear it. San Fran says to put more socks on and it could just be that I need a new socket. How do you really know if it's the socket? It feels like I have extra space in the socket at the bottom, but the top feels snug.  Also, there isn't any place around here that does C-Leg training, but I am going to start PT at a local place that said they would do the best that they can. UGH!!!!!!!!! That just is not good enough for me but I will take what I can get.  Any suggestions?
