My c-leg is the older model and no longer under manufacturer warranty which means I'm free from the foot restriction YAY.
I haven't tried the 1C40 but I'm not a huge fan of Bock's feet. They make awesome knees but the feet are bulky. I used to use an Axion. It was HORRIBLE. I fought with my shoes every day and it was like walking on a brick. I know the elation isn't supposed to be the ideal walking foot but I change heights at least twice daily and it's easier to use than the other models that require keys or more complex buttons.
I haven't tried the Rheo but I didn't look into it. I do like the stance control of the C-leg and I do like the second mode. I'm also looking into the Plie, the idea of a microprocessor knee that isn't as afraid of the elements would be nice. I used to use the 3R60 and that's being slapped on a second leg for camping trips. That 3R60 survived bogs, oceans, beaches, wild life necropsies, and even works as a beer opener.
I have an iscial ( SP) containment socket. It's reinforced fiberglass with minimal carbon fiber because I need regular adjustments. My stump likes to defy all logic so it's been altered a lot. We're thinking about the MASS socket but with that one if you're stump isn't fitting exactly the whole fit is ruined. I have some volume loss issues but there isn't any room for a VS unit so the whole socket my change drastically. I'm NOT a fan of taking off the leg adding socks then putting the leg back on two or three times a day.
No cosmetic covering. I don't think covers "hide away who you are" It's a personal choice how the limb looks in the end. I love the colours on the knee and once my socket is figured out I will get it either airbrushed or laminated with fabric. I am looking into a removable covers. Covers alter the function of knees which is why I don't have one. I do a lot of theatre and while I can make a temporary cover out of foam, bubble wrap, and large amounts of nylons it would be nice to have a well made cover that can be removed. Ideally I would like the ready made silicone covering it but we'll see what Insurance says.
