Are you an amputee and want to learn to surf? AmpSurf.org has an upcoming surf clinic in Santa Cruz, CA on March 13, 2010 from 8 a.m - 1 p.m. We will have an after-surf party fundraiser from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Our mission is to help injured/disabled veterans and civilians with disabilities feel the healing power of the ocean through adaptive surfing. You can also find us on Facebook as The Association of Amputee Surfers. 

We have a whole weekend of activities planned. Friday night BBQ, Surfing clinic Saturday, fundraising party in the afternoon, dinner on Saturday night with your new found friends! Lodging deals are available too! If you can't make this one, you'll see on the site that we have a clinic every month up and down the California coast.

So many other countries cover the Paralympics as they do the Olympics, yet here in the U.S. no major network will cover them equally. Paralympians are real athletes just like the Olympic athletes - they just do it a little differently. 20% of Americans have some form of disability, yet differently abled people get less than one half of 1% of airtime on the networks! Why are we still "hidden" from public view? If this was done to any other group, it would be called discrimination.
