Let's just say that I for some odd reason can't follow doctors orders. As many of you know, I have an infection on the lower part of my leg. I tried to do as they tell me and stay off my leg but it's very hard. I have so much to do and then the holidays came and so it was not a good time to be off my prosthetic. The infection still looks the same to me and so I will return to the doctor soon for another tongue lashing.... All I wanted was a new leg but nooooo I have to get rid of the infection. i'm positive that everything will turn out well because it always does. It's just taking longer than I wanted but I know it's my fault.
In other news, my birthday is this Sunday and so I plan to go Salsa dancing Saturday night to celebrate. I love to dance even though I will suffer Sunday with a hangover and leg pain. Did I mention I took Tango lessons? I loved it! It was hard but only because the bottom of the prosthetic is broken but I picked up the steps pretty quickly. I also took a Latin Cardio dance class and it was hilarious. First, my mom and I were the only hispanics in the class and I think the instructor saw us and made the session even harder. I could barely keep up with all the kicks and everything. I think I kicked someone by accident once and I spent most of the time laughing at the situation. The only reason I knew the class was the hardest one yet was because a fellow classmate mentioned it to another person as we walked out.
So as you can see I tend to jump from subject to subject, it's my nature and I talk the same way.
I was going to share another funny story or at least funny to me. Now I have an awesome family that are not shy at all. They have never treated me differently because of my leg. It's just part of who I am, a way of life. Ok so my brothers and I and some friends went to the movies a few years back. Well I don't remember what movie it was we were going to see but the place was packed and there was a huge line. Well ding, ding my brother looks at me and I could see a light bulb flicker. I looked at him confused but didn't say anything. So he walks away as we are standing in line complaining that we were going to get crappy seats. He comes back with a manager and tells him I'm disabled. Now I have never ever considered myself disabled or used it as to gain anything or get special priviledges. Apparently disabled people are let into the theater before everyone else and there is a special elevator or whatever so it can take you up to your seat. I looked at him in shock and my dear old brother pulls up my pant leg to prove to the young manager that I have a fake leg and almost pulled it off me to prove his point. I have never been so embarrased in my life because here I am fighting with my brother to keep my leg on. The wide eyed manager didn't know what to do so he let me up before everyone so I was able to get good seats for all of us. Family... got to love them!!
I will share other stories as I remember them....
Oh yeah I have taken up the art of painting and I want to share this particular painting. I'm still working on my technique but I call this painting "Flawless Beauty". I didn't mean for the hand to be that way, it just turned out that way... Ciao for now.
