I had to grieve my loss before I even thought about being in a relationship. It would never have worked. Now thats taken years and now Im ready. I feel I can now live my life and be a good a good person to be around. Because until you have grieved your loss you will not be a very nice person to be around for sure. I think that sounds right. LOL.

John -- for sure...that goes for anything whether it's losing a limb, or a loved one, or a whatever.

    Hey John,

You are smart on with getting yourself right before moving to a new relationship. Unfortunately my accident occurred the day I found out my wife was leaving with another guy so it was a double whammy.

I haven't dated in over three years simply because I figured it would go down in flames until I have gotten myself to a better place.

    Good luck to you sir.

hey man hows it goin? I definetly agree that whatever issues one has about thier past must be resolved. If a situation arrises that one has no controll over, or if resolution isnt possible, then one must at least come to terms with thier condition/situation. Some things we have controll over and some we do not. One thing however that we have absolute and total controll over is ones thoughts and attitude. Only I can decide to have a positive mental attitude, or to be negitive. Belive me, its not always easy, but when applied it works. Best of luck with your endevors. May you find peace of mind and acceptance of self.take care- Theo

You sound like you have your head on straight to me John! I did the same thing as you. I waited, because I thought, who is going to want me like this? Interestingly, once my head was on straight about it and regained my confidence and love of life, I had more dates than I did pre-amputation! Woo-Hoo!

You are nice looking and seem really nice John, so I am sure you already have a line out the door!
