After hanging out all night by the pond and driving the dirt roads I decided to go home. I left my buddies house around 1:30am. I went about a mile down the dirt road and lost control of my car. (everythings not real clear about the accident b/c I don't remember it) The car flipped around and threw me out the window, into a field. My car then cleared the fence, landed on top of me pinning me underneath the exhuast. I layed there for about an hour. I was twisting and turning trying to get myself out. I screamed, I beat on my car, I even tried digging myself out. Soon a lady was on her way home from work and stopped by her sister's house before heading home. (which was right past where I was) She could hear me beating on my car and screaming but couldn't make out what the noice was. She told her sister to dial 911 and her and her brother-in-law went out to look. He turned off my car because it was smoking so bad it was about to catch fire. They searched around for 20 minutes trying to find where I was at. Since I was underneath the car with just my head and one arm showing. A deputy showed up shortly after and jacked my car up off me. I was life flighted to KU Med and was in the burn unit there for eight weeks then to a Topeka hospital for 10 more days. My right leg BK was burned to the bone so they had no choice but to amputate it. As for the rest of my legs....I have had over 18 surgeries (a lot of them piggy back surgeries) and have burn scars over most my legs. I got my prosthetic at the very end of January. I'm pretty much all healed up. I'm still waiting on my left foot to atrophy down. They took the left part of my stomach muscle to cover my foot since all the muscle on the inside of my foot was burned off. So, pretty much..I have a really fat foot that doesn't fit into normal people shoes. Hopefully some day!
