About Me I hate to think of things to write about myself. I am married to a wonderful man named Jerry, he has helped me so much through this time in my life. I am somewhat goofy and quirky. I am also moody and forgetful. I sometimes think I have ADD, although I have never been diagnosed. I have a disease called Neurofibromatosis, but that has nothing to do with who I am. My disability does not define me, it is just a piece of me. I have so much faith in my God, more so than I had before the amputation. I know that through him I can do it all, and I can do it all with a smile on my face.

Its funny how trials bring you closer to God. I truly shouldnt be here, after two surgeries that I have had in September of 2007. One was on Sept 24th which I was given 14 units of blood, and the operation was stopped. The next surgery was on the 27th and this is the one where my leg was amputated. In this surgery I was unbelievably given 45 units of blood.

I have always given my thanks to people that donate blood. I wouldnt be here if it werent for people like that. It is a life changing experience to realize that you shouldnt be here. It is also a life changing experience to have doctors tell you that its a miracle you are alive and that you are a fighter.

I have learned my true strength through this hard time in my life. I dont want to just lay around and feel sorry for myself. I wont to do things on my own, because eventually I will have to. And I will. I have also learned that God truly makes miracles happen. If it werent for all of the prayers going out for me and for our Lord I am not sure that I wouldve had the strength to make it through all of this. But my spirits are stronger than they have ever been.

A few days after I got home from the hospital my mother and I were talking about the power of prayer. She went outside of my house to smoke a cigarette and at the end of the ramp in front of my house was something white and unusual. She went to pick it up and it was a sticker that said "God is Awesome". I think there was a reason that sticker was there. It was God letting me know that he will always be here for me! And that prayer really does work.
