I was walking just fine with my new C-leg for the past 3 weeks and then suddenly the pressure of my stump on socket became unbearable. I couldn't even suction the leg on fully toward the end of today and had to crawl into my house becuase of how bad it hurt. A piece of skin just peeled of for some reason and now it's bruised/inflamed and just ****ing sucks. And solutions?

Mike, that sounds extremely painful and I hope you've seen your prosthetist or doctor by now. I hope you've gotten it resolved, when my socket seems too tight, or causes pressure on the end of my stump, I usually take it off, add a sock, or adjust the fit. I hope you're feeling better. Mike, so sorry to know you're hurting. Shouldn't be that way. Sounds like your stump has shrunk some since your socket was cast. It's natural, will keep on happening essentially forever, except that with time the shrinking won't amount to much. Your prosthetist can line the socket, making the volume for the stump smaller, keeping the fit pretty much what it should be. Like you, I shrunk out of my first socket in a matter of weeks, the second socket didn't last much longer, went through three the first year, then one a year for a while, now it's down to one every three to five years. Hang in there. You'll get there. In the meantime, see your prosthetist immediately Luck Ben
