Hey Donna, thanks for the nice welcome. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the other nurses yet but I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for the words of encouragement, seems I need them on a daily basis right now. Just learning to walk on my prosthetics and I can see where I'm gonna need heaps of patience with this but I will perservere! Thanks again and take care!

    Hi Donna,
Just a note to tell you I got my prosthetic leg and I'm getting used to it! I know they will have to adjust it more because when I got home it seems tighter and hurts leg. But I have been wearing it twice a day for 30 minutes like they said! Every 3 days they said to increase 30 minutes each time!! It's a start and know it will feel better as stump shrinks! I only had surgery 10 weeks ago. Thanks for the nice comment!! Take Care, Brenda

    Hi Donna,
Yes ankle flexibility was a problem. We chose a College Park Tribute foot, which had a bit of ankle flexion but it is a trade off for better energy return, which i could do with because the silicone cosmesis is heavy.
at the end of the day it is a miracle to be this far with it, so I guess the foot set up can only get better.
My NHS prosthetist is trying to get an RSL Steeper Esprit - so when she can finally get the socket to fit, we'll give it a road test.
You are very beautiful, you would make a super belly dancer!
    You should try.

thanks for the comments. My sockets are all made such that my knee is supported, too many old powerlifting injuries and just plain old age (:P) has worn my knees out some.

I am cruuently a LBK and my doctor gave me the truth so coldly because I made him prommise that he would NEVER let emotion get in the way of out relationship. I thought that I would be able to take the news better if their was no emotional attachment. I was wrong. Well like I said I had 1 leg amputated and now after 3 years I may have to come to grip with the fact that I may have to give up my other leg.

I totally agree, Parents do think there children are being rude, I love when Children ask out of curiosity and you can teach them something.

PFFD is a condition as to were my right femur has not grown and left my foot aligned with my knee joint on my left leg, i had the vaness done (rotation to my right foot) to level it out as you can see in a picture i have in my album, with the foot being backward and ligned with my knee it makes a durable knee when i bend it inside my prosthetic.

The cause of PFFD is uncertain.

All I have right now is my "sport utility" leg. I want to get a Cheetah when I finish school. I hear they are amazing. I can afford the blade, but not the new socket.

I started with Hanger. Was with them for 8 months and every socket he put me in would never work. The leg man is pretty young there and not very experienced. So he called in Kevin Carroll and he put me in a liner with the the ring around it. That didnt work either. So I decided to switch .

So I went to a man that ran Hanger locally for 15 years. Well he was in competition with Hanger and that was all wrong. He put me on a Rheo knee and sent me to Bob Gailey. The Rheo was not stable enough to hold me. I fell and broke my arm and didnt walk for 7 more months.

At that time my case worker was just giving up on me. After 3 more months I got an appointment with a local leg man here and he said that since 2 other people had worked with my C-Leg that I would have to buy a brand new one. So my case worker set me up with Ga Prosthetics in Atl. because it would be convienent for her. She wouldnt have to drive that far.

Ive been with him for 2 months and hes made about 10 different sockets and none have beeen comfortable yet.

Im just getting frustrated with everything.
