Celebrate - 1 yr of living

    Monday, November 17, 2008, 08:44 AM [General]

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since my accident.  I have moved on and made the best of the situation.  I don't remember anything from the accident so it is not like I have any horrible dreams or memories.  I have completely returned to doing all the things that I did and drive my family crazy becuase I refuse to slow down.

Hope everyone who reads has a great week.  Sending smiles and hugs to anyone who need them. ;o)

Make a Difference - Get Involved

    Monday, September 29, 2008, 02:15 PM [General]

I have to brag a little.  This past weekend I helped co-chair a fundraiser for a young lady with Cystic Fibrosis.  We raised almost $4000.00 in her honor to help her receive the necessary medical treatment.  We had a custom rods and car show, silent auction and bake sale.  I will post pictures as they come in.

My family thought I was nuts when I told them that I was getting involved in this project but I tell you getting back to helping others has made me feel so much better.  I encourage everyone out there to take a few minutes and help someone else.  It will raise your spirits and make you realize that you must live for the day because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

    Have a great week everyone.

    Body Glide

    Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 07:20 AM [General]

I was having a problem with my prostetic rubbing/chafing a spot on my leg and a friend of mine from work recommended a product called Body Glide.  She uses it because she is a runner and says that it works miracles.  I went out and picked some up yesterday and I can't belive how great it works.  Just thought I would share.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

    Crazy Jobs

    Monday, July 28, 2008, 12:55 PM [General]

Just wondering am I the going nuts or do I have one of the craziest, most unheard of jobs around.  I know what kind of job could that be.   Now don't laugh like everyone else that I meet.   I am a live fish sales person.  No I don't work in a pet store, I actually sell live fish for food consumption.  We have farms on the east coast where we farm raise tilapia and sell them in the ethnic markets.  What other crazy, different or fun jobs did people return to after their amputation?

Lets have some fun.  It is Monday and none of us really want to be at work anyway.  Post your resonse in the comments sections after a week or so maybe we will vote on whose job we would most like to have.

    Getting My New Socket

    Monday, July 21, 2008, 09:24 AM [General]

I am getting my new socket tomorrow.  I am so excited because the one I have is sooooo big that it is becoming painful to use.  The new one is suction; I had been using a lanyard system by I was told that the suction would look better and be more comfortable.  Anyone have a take on this?

Hope everyone is doing well and have a GREAT Monday.
