Does this ever get better? I have been a bi-lat ak/bk amputee for 3 years now. It was a traumatic amputation, resulting from injuries sustained in Iraq. At the peak of my abilities on sticks, I am able to run and walk without aid, and I race triathlons to keep in shape. But with all of my apparent success, I am still only able to wear my legs for an hour or so at a time. I pride myself on an ability to ignore pain, so I know that it isn't just idle whining, it really hurts like a mother. I know my sockets fit correctly, so it just seems like I am better off sticking to a wheelchair, which I have to use anyways if I am going anywhere big, like a mall or school. I am alone here, or is this how it is for everyone?
