you would have no idea how many holes i have dug and beers i have drank in decatur,il.we do alot of work at ADM in decatur and have been driving pile at ADM in,could you guess, clinton,ia.trivia for you.there is a dwitt in clinton county,ia and a clinton in dwitt county,il.so who says i have to have all my marbles at 53.actually i wouldn't let them work on my leg the second time till the day after the HD 100th anniversity which was a tuesday.they took the whole leg which upset me to say the least, called my brother to come get me on thursday and was riding in a poker run on sat.crutches, bloody stump and all.boy to i love pain pills.been on nuerontin and methadone since the accident for phanthom pain.i ended up being one of those lucky individuals that all my leg nerves remember the accident even tho i can't.o well, cant have everything perfect.

yes,i have wondered about why and i always come up with a easy explanation.when i lost the leg the first time i was by myself because my girlfriend couldn't ride due to radiation and chemo treatments for cervical cancer.if she would've been with me that day i would not have been on that road at that time of the day.she got really bad while i was in the hospital and with me being laid up it was easy for me to blow off work and be with her the next 10 months of her life.we where married and she died 10 days later.so if not for the accident i wouldn't of been with her everyday.when i lost the leg the second time i was really down and my visiting nurse and i became great friends and we are still takeing care of each other 4 years later.i have no complainst other than i do wish i had a knee.i own a deep foundation co. that use to put in cell tower foundations here in the midwest.now we are busy doing foundations for all the ethanol plants that are going up all over.take care

    Hi Matt:

Things are going well just digging out of a storm from the other day. Winter has hit early. I do not have a motorcycle at this time. I have an ATV and a couple sleds, but I have not owned a motorcycle since my accident. I still have my bike license, but my wife never liked the idea of me getting on a motorcycle unless it was a trike and they were more than she wanted me to spend. My C-Leg does not lock in place. I tried to ride once and I found it hard to get my foot under the shifter to shift. I am not really picky to get back into it at first. I will take what gets me back on a ride. Eventually I would like to get on a touring. I would not ride with my wife at first, but the plan is for her to join me and do some traveling. I hope this helps. Thanks for any input you have. Have a great day.

    Hi Matt:

Nice ride, yours I take it. Anyway I am a AKA on the left leg the only thing I miss is to ride a bike. Any suggestions on how to modify a shifter or do I have to go to a trike?

Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks.

nice looking bikes, are any of them yours.could see the electric shift in the pic.i ride a 2000 fatboy with a lehman trike kit.greatest riding bike i have ever had.i am an left aka so i also use a kiltronics shifter.was on a 1997 fatboy when pickup took more of the curve than he should of.came away with a compound fracture of the femur, broken ribs, collasped lung and no leg below the knee.had trouble with breaking the screws holding the femur together and 18 months after accident they took rest of leg due to infection.life is grand, priorites change and i ride more now than before the accident.been to daytona, myrtle beach, key west, and sturgis.looking forward to harley davidsons 105th anniversity.it was the day after the 100th that they made an aka out of me.had to go to the 100th before i would let them cut on me.so do you still ride, rode thru nc. on way to myrtle beach.great riding!!! rode the dragons tail in the smokeys.if you like curves that is the place to go.anyway, if you have time drop me a line
