Has anyone with a below knee amputation ever had problems with their calf cramping up when you are walking around? I've been getting this a lot and we can't seem to solve the problem. Right now I have a suction cup socket, but I have had the same problem with a pin lock years ago. Any thoughts?

ohh i'v had that issue but for me its my nerve spasms or just in the begining the muscle wasn't used to being worked the way it's needed for a prosthetic. that is something thatll go away in time. but if its nerves you wanna look into treatment on that. mine damn near make me fall over. so try to pin point the feeling and go from there crystle |

Jeremiah I get cramps in the remnants of the calf muscles when I forget and "use" them, like when I "kick" with the phantom foot when swimming, or when I try and "toe off" with the phantom foot when walking. Right now, because of having to operate pedals on machinery, I wear a peg almost exclusively. When I change out for the foot assembly, a Freedom model, it's so much better to walk on than the peg, seems so natural in comparison with the peg, that I forget and try to use the phantom foot, which "works" the remnants of the calf muscles, and WOW CRAMPS--- BIG TIME PAIN!!!!! We're all different, so maybe this isn't the case with you, but it sure is with me. It's caused by me trying to "use" the phantom foot. Hope this helps Luck Ben
