I just sent you an email with some comments, but thought I would say something here for others in case they read this.

Diabetics naturally heal a lot slower then non-diabetics and your feet will heal even slower. This is one of the many reasons that your doctor will tell you to take extra good care of your feet.

In your case with a wound still bleeding a year later is not normal even for diabetics. I am by far not an expert, just speaking from my own experience of being a diabetic for over 20 years. Please go see either an orthopedic doctor that specializes in feet, a podiatrist that has experience with diabetics or a wound clinic. Any of those three will be able to help you or point you towards someone who can.

I'm sorry that you are going through so much. I understand the difficulty in healing with diabetes. Having gone through so much, it sure is easy to look at life differently hey! I remember having a pretty good sized bruise around where my little toe used to be and my physical therapist just going on and on about protecting my foot. It's not easy when you don't have feeling there. I still have no idea what happened, but I do look my foot over a couple times a week since. Please keep me posted on how your healing.
