    Joe,
Thank you so much for answering my post...I was beginning to think I am crazy!! The prost. I've talked to don't seem to know what to do about the 'bowing out'...I tell them it feels like I need to walk on the outside of my foot to compensate for the curving out...maybe it is because the leg is short, just a few inches below my knee...but I just wish there was something they could do...I want to walk normally!! Thank you again so much for your note!! Have a Blessed Day!! Trish

Sorry Joe - it's a one of a kind a friend made me after I lost my leg on my Harley. But go ahead and use the idea and make something like it. The chair gets a lot of use, a lot of attention, and makes a great conversation piece. I love it! I'm glad you liked it as well - and sorry I can't be of more help.

I totally understand how you feel right now! I had was in a motorcycle wreck where I had not the same, but similar injuries. Then I had to go back for an extra surgery too! Trust me this is the hardest part, but surely you will make it through. Its all smooth sailing from there out!

Hi Joe, good to hear from you. I hope this helps.
Osseointegration is a procedure in which you have a piece of Titanium inserted into your stump by way of surgery. Your femur then integrates with the Titanium and you are left with a part Titanium, part bone stump. The piece of Titanium is hollow and is threaded and to this the surgeons attach another piece of Titanium, which is called 'The Abutment' and sticks out of your stump by about 1.5 inches. To this abutment, they then attach your prosthetic leg and hey presto. It’s as simple as that.
I have tried to send you some pictures of my leg and implant but i am not too sure how to do it. You really need to see this to understand it. Get in touch and we can discuss it further if you like. I am going to sort out everything i have been given relating to this subject and will gladly fax them to you.
