    Josh at ACA

Saturday, May 1, 2010, 02:38 PM EST [General]

Josh must be too modest (chuckle, chuckle) to toot his own horn a little. He will be at the ACA conference in Irvine, CA from August 26-29. He will be signing his book as well as performing for us. I'm really excited to be able to meet Josh.

The ACA conference is great for every amputee. You get to experience a support group meeting with 900 people in attendance. You get to see all the technology available to us. You can meet and compare hardware with other amps as well. There are technology sessions to show us what is new. There is a clinic to help you walk better or learn to run. We hope to have some extreme sporters there to show us what we CAN do if we want, i.e. surfing or rock climbing. We are also going to have some self-defence classes. There is also a kick@$$ exhibit hall where you can shop for new equipment, new prosthetists, new anything dealing with amputees.

Mark your calendars. I'd like to meet many of you if you can go. If you want more information, hit me up or you can go to the ACA website.   www.amputee-coalition.org.

It's an incredible experience. I've been to every conference since I lost my leg (April, 04). I've met some of the best people I could hope to meet. Some even let me call them and whine in their ear when I have an unexpected bad day. It still helps me to bounce problems off another amps experience.

    Hope to see you there.

Apparently they can grow back, my surgeon shortened up the nerve in the hope that if it does grow back it wont be quite as painful.

Good Ole' Oklahoma. My wife and I enjoy going down to OKC as I go through Hanger for my prosthetics. We have met many good people down that way and always enjoy the more relaxed personalities than what you find in Kansas City.
