Hey, Patty-forgive me but what does stubbie mean-wearing prosthesis on "stubbies" maybe somehow walking on toughened stubbies? I am just curious that I might be missing on some slang-just curious----Mike Crews I really feel stupid-but since it isnt the first/nor last I went ahead and jumped....

Hi patty, I might have to challenge you for the best stubbie walker on the west side of the world... I love my stubbies, wear them all the time around the house and they make it so much easier to do a lot of things. I love to hike in the woods and I can do that in my stubbies as I can't in my prosthetics since climbing in hard without your own knees. I wish I had stubbies when I was little... I don't know why none of my prosthetists early on clued into how great they were and suggested making them. When I was really little I used to wear cups on my stumps and I could walk upright...esentially the same thing. I know what you mean about the staring, but I kind of feel good about it at the same time because I feel like those people have to open their eyes and maybe broaden their views on something they probably didn't know or think about before.
