About Me I am one of the easiest going individuals that you will ever meet. I love to have a goodtime and am not afraid to try it all. I know that life is a gift and I believe everyday is like Christmas..... I love sports and have played them all of my life. I played football at mighty Gustavus Adolphus college and still continue to play sports. I love competition but I love my friends probably even more and playing sports is a great reason to get together. I live on what you might call frat row becuase there are 2 other guys I played football with in college that own houses on the same street 2 blocks away and about 23 guys that comeover a lot that live or own houses within 10 blocks of my house. So there is always something going on.... I was in a pretty bad accident a little over two years ago and am lucky to be here, the doctors still can't figure out why I am. I loved life before and didn't think it was possible to enjoy it even more but I do. My family is amazing and yes I grew up with 4 moms or I should say 3 older sisters but I think it took 4 moms to get me here today. I love my friends just as much and they are an amazing part of my life.....one of the biggest things that I learned out of this accident is who my true friends are. Anyone can tell you that they will be there for you in the beginning, but only your true friends see how you are 6 months or a year down the road. That is me in a nut shell. Of course, I still love to have a good time and have surrounded myself with the same kind of people as me. I do have little shin digs at my house everyonce and a while, where DJ Vision, Graham and a few others have set up there tables and spun amazing tunes, so if your not afraid of a good dance off with some sweet card board moves or just want to chill and hang out then you are in the right place.
Music I listen to everything from Johnny Cash to Tiesto to Oakenfold to DJ Dan to Kenny Chesney. I listen to it all.... It depends on what mood I am in but nothing makes me bounce around like a little House or Progressive and nothing makes me more chill than The Band or Willie Nelson......

    Three years this week

    Monday, June 9, 2008, 05:44 PM [General]

Three years sure goes by fast....It will be 3 years this Thursday that I got into my accident and had my leg amputated, or I should say the train amputated my leg...I sure have learned a lot in three years but the biggest thing that I have learned is who your friends are.  People are always there to lend a hand and helpout after the accident ,at least for a bit, but its your real friends that are still there asking if they can helpout months and years down the road.  I have long since come to believe that people never mean half of what they say, and that it is best to disregard their talk and judge only their actions.

I am sure I will write more this week since I do have a lot on my mind but that is just one thought I wanted to share.....

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Walking soon....

    Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 05:25 PM [General]

Well I had revision surgery on Sept. 19th and my goal was to be walking again by my birthday which is this saturday...  When I first told my prostetist this he just said "its good to have goals" but didn't think it would happen.... the surgery was a big success, unfortunately just not as big as they hoped and so I will be having another revision next year so I can get a suction socket, but I am going to the set up I had before with the tech liner. I started the casting process last week and yep I am finishing up tomorrow and Thursday so it looks like my goal will come true.  Its great to have goals no matter how big or small.  Its going to be nice carrying things again, ohhh the simple pleasures in life....

    Hi Rob,

Sorry it took so long for me to get back. My Grandfather recently passed away and so much other stuff has been going on it's been crazy, to say the least. I didn't go shopping on Black Friday! Did you? I have gone for the past two years but not this year. I hope you're doing good, ♥

Yeah, thats unbelievable...its times like that i want to chop their legs off for a day and then they can tell me its not essential, or necessary!!!
i tried to claim on my superannuation after my accident for disability insurance...they told me i would have had to lose both legs to claim it!!
im not normally so down, but im just a bit grumpy at the mo,,sorry...
