    Hey Everyone!

We just finished a cross country move from Minnesota to Myrtle Beach, SC! It's beautiful here, we're five miles from the ocean and I wake up to sunshine and palm trees every day. Lovin' the South!

My name is Eric. I'm a below elbow amputee from Minnesota. I lost my arm to a 1992 work accident and the 2002 on set of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (www.rsd.org).

I'm married and have 3 children. I'm an avid outdoorsman and enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, soccer, hockey, and playing my drumset. I'm the goalkeeper for the U.S. National Amputee Soccer Team and I just finished my first triathlon in July.

Since my amputation in 2004 I've immersed myself in the amputee community. In 2005 I founded UpperEx.Com, a web based informational site and magazine for individuals living with an upper extremity limb loss or difference and their families. The magazine started with 20 subscribers but has grown to over 3000 subscribers in 30 countries in just 2 years! The site also has a tips & tricks section, an on-line glove swap, news, links & resources, support group info, and tips for OT/PT's as well.

As UpperEx.Com was growing and through contact with other upper extremity amputees around the world, I identified a need for an organization dedicated to the unique and complex needs of upper extremity amputees and their families. While we are a small percentage of the amputee population the need still exists for education, information, and services to those affected. And on August 7, 2006 the UpperEx National Outreach Coalition ( www.upperex.org ) was formed as a national nonprofit Foundation for upper extremity amputees.

Thanks for checking out my site!
