How long have you been using these new legs? All new fits take some time to adjust too. But to me it sounds more like there is a fitting problem, Have you taken them back and told the people you got them from that you are having all these problems with them? Where in Fla are you? Hi Rose, sorry it's taken so long to get to your group. I'm a BBK for just over 2yrs now, and I'm on my forth set of sockets. I use Alps silicone liners with locking pins. Although I'm in the UK and things are slightly different one thing stays the same: IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO HURT. IF IT HURTS, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM AND THEY NEED TO BE FIXED. Don't leave your leg guy's office until you are perfectly happy.

i am a bi-lateral bka i have locking pin legs, at one time my inserts would be long and roll down my legs what i did was cut them to where they were comfortable and working properly.

I have gone through at least 6 different types of legs and I have decided that the heck with hi-tech..I am getting just a regular leg with nothing fancy, light-weight and just what I need. My main problem, I keep losing weight and so the socket has to be constantly changed to a smaller size. When my leg gets smaller it causes the stump to go further into the socket causing excruciating pain in my groin area. I can tell you that I would rather have my daughter by breach again than take another step when that happens. Today, in pure desperation I took a tube sock and stuck it down inside the socket, in that area, with a little hanging over the side. Voila instant cusion but that is only a temporary fix. Maybe that will give you some ideas on what you desire in your prosthetics. But by all means, remember something I keep forgetting.....Don't let some slick Prosthetic "salesman" talk you into things that aren't right for you, just because "it's the best on the market". Ha, I bought into that one. I now just keep it simple. Good Look to you. BTW, My husband and I used to live in Delray Beach....hot and muggy and the beach was unswimmable. First off, don't let my photo scare you. Took it with my webcam after a long day of visiting with my grandchildren. I am sitting here with my legs off which is something I once never did because the long "sleeves" on my vacuum prosthesis have blistered the heck out of my thighs! Also I seem to be twisting inside my prosthesis -something they said I wouldn't do and this tires my back and hip out! Methodist Rehab Orthotics and prosthetics is my current provider. I give them fits. I've been a right b/k amputee for over 35 years. Left for only 8. Frustration is my most often used word these days. I have also had to have 2 surgeries in 2 years because of pockets of fluid forming on the end of my residual limbs. Do your knees and hip hurt?
