I am a bilateral amputee of less than 2 years. Am 58 years old and on second set of prosthetics. Does everyone else have problems with the fit?? I never know when I put them on if they are going to hurt like crazy or not...seems they just don't fit right, ever!! These are vacuum, with a long sleeve that fits to top of hip...nice for FL, huh?? I have my natural knees, so they are primarily from the knee down. I just feel I picked the wrong prosthesis or wrong place to have them made...can someone let me know what kinds are out there, that are comfortable? These also have "shocks" which were supposed to help, but, don't seem to.

I don't know what kind of sleeves you have but mine we cut off to about7 inches above the knees. I got my pros from Hanger and they are great. I don't have any problem with the fit. I hve to put an extra sock on after about 3 or 4 hours but I wear them everyday for at least 12 hours lots of times more. I feel really lucky. If I wear long pants people can hardly tell I have them on. Pat Patrick |

I don't understand to the top of the hip. Most below knee prostheses do not go anywhere near the hip. ?? I still have a poor fit as well though. So I'm not really the one to talk to. Personally I am wondering if anyone who is a bilateral BK does not experience more problems than a unilateral BK. Have you looked into this? Jim
