hi everyone,
my name is Shai Berman, i'm 19 from israel. currently a soldier in the israeli defence forces ( airforce..). i am also missing my right hand from birth. ( english is my second language so i apologize in advance for any grammar and/or spelling mistakes).
to be honest, i'm not really sure what i'm doing here, and i'm quite sure i don't have anything interesting to say. my hand was never an issue for me, i laugh about it and forget about. actually, the people around me also forget about it pretty often.
i've never felt the need to talk to other amputees, i have no questions i need answered. the only thing i think about when i see someone with 1 hand is whether i can help them in some way: technical or mental, never the other way around. i believe it's all about attitude. mine was shaped by my parents ( thank god for them....)
it's weird for me to think of amputees as a community, and far more bizarre to see me as a part of it. i'm kind of lying to myself saying i'm only signing in to see if i get any interesting responses or interesting info.
either way, i'm up for replies...
have a nice weekend ( tgif or something like that :)

Shai -- You bring up a good point -- being an amputee doesn't automatically put you in an "amputee community" if you don't know any other amps. At any rate, welcome.
