In 5 years, I have never,  even with the girls i've been chasing, been able to just say cancer, and leave it at that.

I like to see the shock on peoples faces.

    Single Handed life....

Thursday, January 14, 2010, 11:22 PM EST [General]

I hate doe-eyed addmiration,  there I said it.

I am in this position because i didn't listen to my body, I wasn't born without, or had limbs removed by childhood disease, or traffic accident.

I lost my arm, beacuse i let loss of feeling in my hand go on too long,  thinking it was a pinched muscle or nerve.

If i hear one more person say how in awe of me they are, i think i'm going to get sugar shock.

I do what i have to do because that is the path that was laid out, and i'm too dang stubborn to just fold up and die.

    (Update) 1/16/10

I realized how bitter this post was after reading both bens, and davids comments. and also realized that was not necessarily the way i meant it.  so it seemed appropriate to issue the correction the same way.   things will get better, Ben is right, but you should always sit on a draft thats emotional for a day or twwo before publishing.

I bowl on a league, every friday night, most bowling shoes that are adult, are not velcro but laces. so,  to keep enjoying the sport, I learned to tie my own shoeds and really thought no more of it.

the attached video is what it looks like whejn a one armed person tries tying shoes. i understand the amazement a little bit better now, looking from a different point of view ..  in my vidseo gallery  is a 30 second quicktime movie
