She went to school for her PhD program on a full paid scholarship with perks. even after her accident she has kept her spirits high and will be joining her professors for a research position in Indias BEST university.

i want to get her a book that will be inspirational/informative/challenging and memorable. My problem is this...IM LAZY and havent read a book in ages...
This is where this great community comes in...it is on all you readers to suggest a good book...

I'll be waiting by the computer for ur reponses.

    Wat up 'ma people'?

Monday, November 12, 2007, 06:46 PM CST [General]

Havent been on the site for a while...last visits were pretty much during the 'Heroes' voting. guess we lost that one, but hey one thing is for sure, if there are any people who can deal with any kind of loss, u'll see em here. Right. We will continue to be heard and noticed (with or without choice).

An update on ma status...Im a bilateral ak...had taken a break from prosthetic training for a couple of months. Just started back with it this week and xcpt for a few alterations to the sockets im back to walking across the therapy hall with a walker...man i forgot how exhausting this is...dont think an hour, three times a week is sufficient. does anyone know how i can get therapy more frequently? do i have to ask for a special prescription from the doc? Beg medicaid? i know some of yall are doing as much as 3-4 hrs a day? HOW DO U GET THE STAMINA/insurance coverage? r there any programs i can avail off for assistance? hit me up please?

    c yall in cyberspace

    PEACE

If u PRAY ON then u won't b PREYED ON!

Friday, October 19, 2007, 12:45 PM CST [General]

Its all about the power of prayer people...Ive said it before, Faith n humor will take us a long way...Actually its all about having faith but there ain't nothin' wrong in seeking humor while being faithful (I hope)...

As far as us having visitors...i dunno why people assume that since there r more women in the viewed column...that implies more visitors (male). Is there a sexual discrimination in computer ownership and internet access?

If you dont want anyone else using any of ur pics...dont postem on the site...or atleast make ur pics 'private' right Josh...there will always be people who want to abuse info...THINK PEOPLE...u can exchange pics in the mail one u get to know someone online...although i really dunno how u will know somebody well enough to trust them cuz EVERYBOBY LIES n its not like there is a lie detector built into the email network...

but on another note...we had a good meeting here in Baton Rouge...mosttlly spinal injury patients but it was fun to hangout...we r gonna start visiting people at the ICU at the local hospital for support starting the 1st...

    Peace

Thursday, October 18, 2007, 05:47 PM CST [General]

    hi yall,

just joined yesterday and already im offended...is that too soon?of all places, i did not xpect this at an amputee site...im just barely getting used to being stared at by kids and asked "What happened to you?" by the adults.

so setup my account yesterday leave a couple of blog posts...go to bed wake up go for therapy and every thing is fine till I get back...i log in to see whos here at <4...check my site and im surprised to have gotten several messages in my  inbox, some comments on my blog posts, and a handful of friendship requests...all is fine n dandy...

but when i try to leave a comment on some other members blog posts...i get an ERROR MESSAGE: You must be in GOOD STANDING to leave a comment...
whats up with that Mr. moderator??? is that someones idea of a bad joke...ive only started my prosthetic training and i'm miles from standing straight...cant i post anything till then? whats up with that...am i allowed to be leaning on something, or the whole "Look ma NO HANDS!" deal? oops sorry bout the "no hands" comment...didnt mean it the wrong way...hey that would make a good T-shirt though right...

Keep your spirits high people...i think Faith and humor are our allies...

can I get a LTF welcome?

Wednesday, October 17, 2007, 09:05 PM CST [General]

how bout some humor to break the ice...

Ok so all my life ive wanted to hit the 6ft mark. I know, I know its not a lot in the west, but for us in the brown world, avg male height is closer to 5'8". So here I am stuck at 5' 11 3/4", praying for that 1/4in when bam! 6/6/6. and I'm back to wearing my elememtary school pants. seriously, spending 4 months on a liquid diet, I even fit the waist. well I spend another year in rehab n finally Hanger comes by to size me up for my pros. We get to talking about what to expect with future rehab, issues with pros. n how with persistance I'll be back running marathons, yada yada yada. Then Jay the rep asks me "So Abe, How tall do u want to be, 6ft?"

so here I am looking for some TLC n attention...can yall show me some love. hook me up with the hippest groups, most happening of places n greatest of gangs.

    aBe.

    p.s. b careful wat u wish for!
