    inMotion magazine

    Saturday, September 29, 2007, 10:01 PM [General]

I just got my Sep/Oct issue of inMotion magazine from the ACA (Amputee Coalition of America).  I've been receiving it since about 3-4 months after my amputation last yeard and have found it very helpful.  I usually find 2-4 articles in each issue are helpful to me, especially as a recent amputee.

Their web site is www.amputee-coalition.org .  I think the magazine if free to any/all amputees, but they do encourage you to join the coalition for a minimum donation of $5/year.

     Anybody else found this helpful?

    This is your life

Over the past 2 years after I was diagnosed with cancer and lost my foot I've been tempted to feel like this was an obstacle to the life I was forseeing for myself.  My wife, who was the best caretaker one could ever ask for, also felt this way at times.  One day as she was praying she felt like God said, "This isn't an interruption to your life, this is your life!  Live it!"

That perspective has made a huge difference in both of our attitudes and perspectives ever since then.  We've both been able to focus on what each day brings and give ourselves fully to each day and the people that each day brings across our path.

This is your life, live it!
