I just read your job comment on Lisa's blog post. I'm totally jealous of your dog pampering job. That sounds so fun!

    Hey right back at you!

Yeah, I'm there about 1-2 times a week also. It's just been few and far batween the past few months due to a bunch of activity that I've been involved with.

Are you a DC area native? Or just there for the treatment?

    Steph:

I just went on a "date" and at the end when we were getting our cars from the valet, he stole one of my crutches after I refused his advances to come over to my house (for the 6th time that night. ) He laughed like a maniac as he put my crutch in his car. I yelled "that's not funny! bring it back!)He said "What's YOUR problem?"

That was all I needed to know about him...

    Hi Steph:

I was watching X-Files last night and there was an amputee in the story. He wore a prosthesis but at one point his girlfriend had taken and hid his pros so he couldn't go chasing after some girl he was interested in...lol...however, his gf showed up with his pro in hand and gave it back to him. I actually found this a bit offensive.

Really dumb story lines for amputees. Why must something always center around the fact that they are amputees. The fact that I am an amputee or wear a pros never comes up in my daily life.

I wonder how many famous people who are amputees actually get roles where their being an amputee is not emphasized in the character they play.? hmmm...I would love to see amputees portrayed on TV/Movies as just every day people going to school, going out with friends, taking care of their families, and working...etc.

Hi Steph: Thanks for the note and your good wishes for my surgery. That is super that you never regretted your amputation...that is what I am hoping to be able to say one day. Take care and thanks again...Linda
