    I'm back

    Wednesday, October 22, 2008, 10:01 AM [General]

Hey yall I haven't been on here in a while.

In July I had surgery , I had been dealing with a lot of pain and swelling in my stump. I would go days at a time without wearing my leg because the pain was so sevre. Well as it turns out I had an abscess. it started out as an ingrown hair. As soon as the doctor cut into it the pain was gone.I don't know how much he drained from it,  but my leg now fits loose I am wearing two socks to keep it tight.

And Then there was sept.  I went to a small bike rally at a local  lake.for three day we camped out. The frist night (friday) a group of us went Skinny dipping at midnight it was a blast. And for me it was a hurdle. It was the first time i have been swimming sence I lost the leg. At one point i touched a girl on the leg with my stump, when she ask what that was I told her That I was happy to see her.

Anyway I'm back and will try to check this a little more often.

    Later Joey

Now this is what i need help with,My leg is bowed quite a bit as a result of

the injury. My porstetic is curved to acommedate for the bow.

My leg man is worried that I could break the leg by jogging on it.

What I need to know is , Do any of you jog, and have any of you suffered this

kind of set back.Is jogging gonna cause more pain than it is worth.

Should I forget about jogging and just sit back and wait on the heart attack.

Someone please give me your thoughts on this.

Hi Joey, I actually joined a few months ago but was really shy about talking still. Thank you for the advice and have a Happy New Year.

Fabulous! Realize that change doesn't come overnight, of course. It can be weeks before you start seeing any results.

The first thing you will see is an increase in endurance. Make sure to always push yourself just a LITTLE bit further each day. Also, bring an mp3 player or something similar if music motivates you; scenic routes also can make it much more fun.

Sadly, I currently live in an incredibly boring area of the country, but soon I'm moving to California for a year, and I'll be near all kinds of parks I'll be able to go hiking/walking in. However, I've decided not to bring my car, so I'm also going to bicycle to class, except in days where the weather is bad.

But that will help me get in shape too. :D
