    Liner problems

    Sunday, March 9, 2008, 05:21 AM [General]

    Hey all

I am having problems with my new Ossur Iceross AK Transfermoral pin Liner. I get a suction effect on the end of my leg that draws the blood to the distal end and is causing some sores as well. I have had one such liner before and have had many other types and have experienced the suction from the liner pulling before but, never this bad.

The last iceross liner was the best I have ever had. I have never had problems with my leg before so its all new to me. Any ideas on what could be causing it? I am normally very active at tennis, golf, gym, squash, cycling etc so this is making me as useful as a aircon on a motorbike.

Another problem i have is that the top of the liner keeps rolling over and getting stuck in the liner which causes alot of very uncomfortable pain. I end up having to take my leg off often, to roll the liner back. any ideas? my legman suggesting cutting the liner shorter but it hasnt helped..... is it just a case of 'running' the liner in?

Im not sure if it is normal but these liners are only lasting about a year or so which is becoming an expensive business. The material keeps coming away from the silicone and once it starts it difficult to stop. my new liner is only four weeks old and already the material by my groin has pulled away from the silicone by about 7cm.

    any ideas???
