ok...they changed my leg to make the sides come up higher, since I couldn't walk with the last one...I can walk now, but my knee still 'gives'...I can't walk very far, and I seem to lose balance easily...my prost says it has to be my weak knee...does anyone else have this problem???? I am so frustrated!!!!
He mentioned some type of 'corset' type thing that he thought might help...but he said I wouldn't like the looks of it...at this point I just want to walk!!
Does anyone know of exercises that might help or does anyone wear the 'corset type thing?? Any suggestions would be appreciated so much!!
Thanks...have a Blessed Day!!!!
Trish

Hey Trish,
JamesWhen I first started out I had a lot of balance issues and still do almost 2 years later. I have an old knee injury from when I was a power weight lifter years ago. My prosthetisist said he would help with my support by keeping sort of ears on my socket that come up on the side of my knee and help supports it from going side to side. I don't know if it would help or not but it may be something to talk to them about.
You may just need some extra strength training for the leg to help your knee.
Not too sure about the corset type thing, I think I would look a bit weirder then normal with one on. :-D
