About Me I have a tendency to forget I have one arm and accept a lot of challenges before thinking them through. Apart from making a sound when I clap I've conquered them all.
Music I'm stuck in the seventies. Whatever drugs came out in the 80's ruined music ever since. Offspring are the exception.
Movies Nothing too girly, unless theres popcorn. If theres popcorn I'll do a "sound of music" marathon if I have to.
TV My kids own the TV, sometimes I'm allowed to watch it.
Books I read to learn, so if a book is going to teach me something I'm going to read it.
Likes Peace and quiet, fresh air, good friends, spicy food and a bunch of other stuff. But not bugs.
Dislikes Heights unless I'm in control. Bugs (I know I'm a sissy)... BIG bugs... you know the ones. Damn giant grasshoppers.
Hobbies Keeping fit, cycling, martial arts and trying to figure out which end of my digital camera is the dangerous end... ie; photography.
Vices Fitness and diet. VERY anti-junk food.
    Virtues Patience.
Heroes Oh you know... the usual; batman, the hulk and the punisher. I grew up on comics.

Hey guys!  Still working on being here more often!  Here are some photo's of my cycle to Eungella.  I'll be back later today to fill in the blanks about each picture.  I've put them all in my "Blog Photo's" gallery!

    Procrastination

Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 06:41 AM AEST [General]

Well.. having more free time hasnt open the blogging flood gates here at Lessthanfour.  Not for me anyway.  Turns out that the "more free time" was just an illusion anyway.  My new job is starting to wear a bit thin, especially considering the pay cut I had to take to get there.

Apart from that I've had an extra long weekend with the kids so I'm feeling pretty content.  The boys were given a taste of some independence and were allowed to ride their bikes to the corner shop and back.  It only took them about twenty minutes but I think I developed an ucler large enough to take out a buffalo.  Their mission?  To buy ingredients to bake cookies and chocloate.  I gave them enough money to leave town, a mobile phone, a shopping list, a "rules" list and strapped a video camera to one of their backpacks to record the whole thing.  I was nervous okay.  In the end they made it back fine and now they want to do everything by themselves, which is kinda cool.

Don't ask how I got to be baking cookies, I know that's not exactly an extreme sport or anything.  Lets just say, everything turned out just fine in the end and that the fire brigade agrees.  Can they really ban me from cooking?

    Bike back on deck!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 06:43 PM AEST [General]

I had a pretty ordinary day turned around, yesterday, at work.  The police called to tell me they had found my bike!  Man, was I happy.  Whoever had stolen it was "up to no good" (in the words of the police officer) at one of the local schools and the police were called.  When they caught sight of the police they ran.  Leaving my bike behind.

The thief had removed all of the lights (forcefully) and stolen the heart rate monitor watch.  No other damage though and I got to ride it to work today... in the rain.

Thanks to all who spotted me stumbling back into Lessthanfour.

    Back on Deck

Sunday, May 11, 2008, 01:40 PM AEST [General]

G'day everybody!  I'm back... anybody miss me? :P

So, I'm back after a long absence running a busy life that got way out of hand.  New job, the switch from civil to mechanical has been... um... challenging but worth it.  Getting in the groove with the new employee and co-workers is a little different but they're good people.  My sense of humour is different from what they're used to I think.

My bike was stolen last week, unbelievable.  They took it from the carport, lights on and all with me in the lounge right next to it.  The nerve huh?  Bring back public floggings I reckon.

Hit a snag trying to get my car license this week to, turns out all of the cars are manual (stick) transmissions in the learner cars.  I'm drawing up some plans/prototypes for an "arm" to do the job.  I know, I know, I could just go get fitted for something but over here that could take a year at best and I'd be left with an arm built for a single purpose.  I'm keen (ULTRA keen) to get back on the motorbike so I need an arm to do several jobs.  Once I have some decent drawings I'll post some pics.

I'm single again.  Which at this point isnt so bad, I needed some "me time" I think.  Funny thing was looking around and seeing all of the things in my life I had been neglecting.  I'll be busy getting a few things in order.  Like "lessthanfour", my house, my job/study and my mates who have been asking where I've been.

    I think thats it?

I did stand on some broken glass lastnight while I was cooking the kids and I a BBQ dinner.  Today I'm limping around and blobbing out on the couch.

    Broken bits

Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 11:03 PM AEST [General]

Well, long time no post.  Works been a killer lately, a lot on my plate.  That and the romantic weekend away with the girlfriend left me with no free time.

But.  Broken bits, can anything else fall off me or malfunction? I thought by having the accident I voided any future anatomical failures.  It seems I've blown a gasket in my shoulder, pulled a muscle, and...well... it hurts dammit.  Whats more annoying is that its the shoulder to which my one and only function arm is attached.  What a drag.

Apart from that I havent learnt any new one armed tricks, nothing to astound readers with.

    I got zip.

So its up to you guys now, give us all something to read.  Tell us about the last time you had some ironic injury that left you "less than four, minus one".  You know, if you got one leg what the heck to you do when your one good leg goes out of whack.  I cant be the only one who's that injury prone.  Right?
