    Broken bits

Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 11:03 PM AEST [General]

Well, long time no post.  Works been a killer lately, a lot on my plate.  That and the romantic weekend away with the girlfriend left me with no free time.

But.  Broken bits, can anything else fall off me or malfunction? I thought by having the accident I voided any future anatomical failures.  It seems I've blown a gasket in my shoulder, pulled a muscle, and...well... it hurts dammit.  Whats more annoying is that its the shoulder to which my one and only function arm is attached.  What a drag.

Apart from that I havent learnt any new one armed tricks, nothing to astound readers with.

    I got zip.

So its up to you guys now, give us all something to read.  Tell us about the last time you had some ironic injury that left you "less than four, minus one".  You know, if you got one leg what the heck to you do when your one good leg goes out of whack.  I cant be the only one who's that injury prone.  Right?

I may very well take the cake when it comes to injury prone... I fall UP stairs and trip on my own pants. My favorite injury was a few winters back when I was leaving work late at night. I was alone in the parking lot and it had snowed. I slipped on some ice and went tumbling down onto my wrist and broke the heck out of it. I couldn't get up on my own with no good legs and a bum wrist so I crawled through the snow to reach my purse (which of course had slid halfway across the lot) to call my then bf to come get my lame a** because I "have fallen and can't get up!" (I hope you get that commercial where you are...)

I ended up with my wrist in a cast with my thumb hyper extended so I couldn't wear a jacket in the cold (my hand wouldn't fit through it) and my figers were useless. It was my right hand too, so I learned to write with my left. But my BF (now husband) had to help me get dressed, put my legs on and wash me because I was about as useless as can be!

You would be absolutely amazed at what goes wrong and at the least opportune moments. My one poor knee has decided it wants to fold at the least convienient times and I'm literally stuck where I fall.
Joint replacement is not an option. I've checked.
My left shoulder is also screwed up - royally. This makes transfers to anything an exercise in logistics, physics and pain management. Pain management usually wins out over everything else. "What's going to hurt the least?" "What if I just mess my pants and take a shower - later?" BTW That last one hasn't become a viable option as yet.

Ok I wll give ya this one.. being and aka the other leg Is my gold lol. I went to a concert about a month ago, The floor was soaked with beer, slime and god only knows what else long story short. I and my cruthces went head over heels. and I wound up tearing off half of the skin on my good knee. was so sore for days. I have gotten used to the fact that I will fall down alot, but I think to save what I got I am gonna invest in a knee pad...
