Check this out, I went on a jet ski, the kind you gotta kneel or stand on, not the kind that got a seat on it. Anyway, I got on this thing thinking that it would be no problem to pull myself onto. Didn't take into account that my prosthetic might get caught on the edge. So i get out on the water and get going. Try to pull myself up, my socket gets caught on the edge no big deal, I try again, socket gets caught. At this time everyone is watching me so I say to myself that im getting on this thing. After about 10 minutes of trying I finally get on it. YAAAY!! Im cruisin along in a somewhat kneeling postion hittin waves, jumpin, just having a great time. All of the sudden I feel a pop coming from my socket. No sooner did I let off the throttle and turn around, the socket breaks suction and goes into the river. So I think for a second 25000 dollar leg or 1500 fixed up jet ski. LEG!! Im goin for it. I dive in not thinking I got a life jacket on, so it is slowly sinking because the foot floats but the socket don't, im swimming as hard as I can to get this thing. Finally I see the foot right in front of me about 8 feet underwater I reached for it grabbed it and luckily was able to pull it out of the water. Talk about almost having a heart attack. If I'd have lost that leg I'd have been PISSED!! Then I had to swim over to the jet ski which luckily had been circling me the whole time. I ended up riding that thing in, laying on it with my prosthetic under me. All and all i had a blast, next time Igo though, im putting a floaty of my prosthetic!!

Hey all, I've got a question that I hope someone can help me with. I moved to Nevada Sept. last year around that time my stump had gone though some changes and I needed to get a new prosthesis. We moved here because my wife got a new job teaching and with the new job came new insurance. I turned in the prosthetic to my insurance co. (teachers health trust) and they are refusing to pay for it stating that they have a "Made Whole Policy".
Now, what I don't understand is that I was never made whole. I did go to court with the woman who caused my amputation, however, she had nothing for me to take from her so I settled for what her insurance co. gave me which ,compared to my expenses incurred during my recovery, is a freaking joke. Now this case was settled over 3 yrs ago. The insurance co is telling me that they don't pay for anything caused by a third party. It doesn't make sense to me!!! I feel that this should be treated as a condition now. The fact that I need a new prosthetic has nothing to do with the woman that hit me now. I feel that it should be treated as if I was a person with say cancer or diabetes because, to me, this is a preexisting condition not the result of an accident anymore. Its not like I'll grow my leg back!! I worry that anytime I need to get something pertaining to my amputation that im going to have to go through all this crap again.
If anyone has gone through a similar situation or has any advise on how to deal with this please send me a message. I appreciate any help I can get.
Just a note, I did already call the State Insurance commission who told me that they can't help because Teachers Health Trust is a Government funded agency. Is there any help for us!!!
Hey everyone! Alot of you know that before my accident, I used to be a dancer!! For anyone who was sceptical of that, here is a little taste of what I used to do and still do a little of today!! I hope everyone enjoys it. This is me (on the right) and my twin and our friend Anthony at the Point in Pittsburgh performing Larger Than Life by the Backstreet Boys. We did this video about 2 years before my accident. It was some of the best times I've ever had!!

Thats right all, I finally got the new leg. My man Dave Kovach at Denham Orthodics here in Nevada hooked me up. It looks exactly how I wanted it to and it feels great so far. Im testing it Valentines Day weekend. Going camping!! Can't wait. Her are some pics that I took before my camera battery died. I'll be putting up more later!!!
I just wanted to take the time to say that this is a great site! So thank you Josh for creating it!! Through this site, I have got the chance to meet and talk to many wonderful people. One in particular is my brother from another mother DINOO! Most of you probably know him already, he's on alot!!haha For those of you who haven't requested his friendship, you should. He is one of the most positive people I've ever had the pleasure of talking with!! He has a love for life and if you are feeling down, as we all do sometimes, he can definately make you laugh. If it were'nt for this site I would not have met him. Even though we live on opposite sides of the country we can still keep in touch through this site. So thank you again Josh for creating lessthanfour. Your a good man!!
On another note, my boy Dinoo is about to leave for India in a few weeks to marry his dream girl and bring her back to the states. So lets all wish him a safe journey and a happy trip back. And don't forget the congrats on the marriage part!!
