So this is how it went...

    Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 07:53 AM [General]

I was 14 years young when it happened. I got hit by a motor vehicle on my mother's birthday. Yeah so saying Happy Birthday to her is a constant reminder. My leg was chopped off the following morning.
I was unconscious for 3 weeks afterwards and remained in hospital for the next 4 weeks. I was still very young and hungry for life so I didn't have time to sob over it. Life had to move forward. I was still looking forward to everything life has to offer.
So when (whoever the person) told me that my leg has been amputated my 1st reaction was "so what does that mean?" & i was told I will not be able to run, jump, dance, play sports, etc. so I said life does not depend on those things and besides I do watch TV so i've seen other amputees do these things. With my chest out, head held high, a crutch on either side...I was ready for it. I was back at life...living like it's my last day...Whew!!!! I love life, with or without a leg. I am Happy!!!!
